Your free trial: 300 credits, 3 days

Every new account gets a 3-day trial with 300 credits, on either plan. The trial is there to answer one question: can BookRocket produce a book you'd actually publish? 300 credits is enough to find out.

How to start it

  1. Sign up and pick a plan (Starter or Pro). Creating the account itself costs nothing.
  2. Add a card. The card is required to start the trial, but you are not charged during the trial.
  3. The 300 credits land in your balance immediately, and the trial clock starts.

The trial is one per account — once you've used it, a later subscription (or a reactivation) starts as a normal paid month with no second trial.

What 300 credits buys

Credits are spent per action, not per book, so what you can do depends on how you spend them. Roughly:

  • An outline costs 3 credits (Fast) or 5 (Quality).
  • A chapter costs 15–70 credits depending on chapter length and mode.
  • Cover art costs 30 credits.
  • An Amazon listing costs 10 credits, a blurb 5.

So a realistic trial run is a short book with a handful of chapters, plus a cover — enough to see the outline step, the chapter prose, the cover designer and the export files. A 20-chapter long-form book will not fit into 300 credits; that's what a plan month is for.

The full cost table lives in What each action costs, and the cost of your exact configuration is shown on the Configure step before you spend anything.

What happens when the trial ends

We email you about 24 hours before the trial ends, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

When the 3 days are up:

  • If you keep the subscription — your card is charged for the plan you chose, and your plan credits (2,000 on Starter, 6,000 on Pro) are granted. Everything you made during the trial stays in your library.
  • If you cancel before the trial ends — you're not charged. Your books stay in your library until the subscription actually ends, and after that they're locked: still listed, but not readable or exportable until you reactivate. You can still download a watermarked PDF of a locked book from its preview.

Unused trial credits do not carry over

Plan credits are use-it-or-lose-it. When your first monthly grant arrives, the plan pool is emptied and replaced with the new allowance — leftover trial credits go with it. They are not added on top.

Credits you buy separately (top-up packs) behave differently: they sit in a second pool and never expire. See What happens to unused plan credits.

Cancelling during the trial

Go to Account → Subscription → Cancel. Cancelling during the trial means no charge at all. You keep access for the rest of the trial window, and can resume before it ends if you change your mind.
